CHINO, CA (November 12, 2024) -- At 12:22 a.m. on Tuesday, November 12, Chino Police officers responded to a traffic collision in the 6600 block of Medford Court involving a vehicle that had crashed into a residence. Upon arrival, officers discovered a black Ford Mustang had collided into the home's second story, coming to rest atop a patio cover.
A preliminary investigation indicates that the Mustang was traveling southbound in the 12600 block of San Antonio Avenue when it struck a curb and the concrete side of the drainage canal. The collision caused the vehicle to go airborne before colliding into the home. The driver, identified as Jacob Torrez, 21, of Chino, was transported to a nearby hospital with serious injuries and remains under medical care.
The vehicle had three other passengers inside: a 19-year-old adult and two minors, all of whom were transported to a local hospital for treatment of injuries. Alcohol may have been a contributing factor in the collision.
While the home sustained considerable structural damage, none of the residents were injured.
The Chino Police Department is actively investigating the incident and urges anyone who may have witnessed the collision or has video footage to contact the police department. If you have information, please contact Officer Lind at SLind@chinopd.org or (909) 334-3081.
