City of Chino Facilities Closed or on Limited Schedule in Observance of the Holiday Season

CHINO, CA (December 12, 2025) -- As the holiday season approaches, the City of Chino reminds residents of several important dates and service adjustments. 


City Facility Closures: 

In observance of the holidays, City Hall and most City facilities will be closed from December 24, 2025, through January 1, 2026, and will reopen with normal operating hours on Friday, January 2, 2026.


Please note the following changes in the operation of City facilities during the holiday season: 


  • Police Department Lobby: Closed on December 24, 25, 31, and January 1. 


  • Senior Center: Closed on December 24 and 25, and December 31 to January 1. Open on December 26, 29, and 30 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Open December 27 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and December 28 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Services available Monday - Friday include lunch, case management appointments, and essential transportation. 


  • Neighborhood Activity Center: Closed on December 24 and 25 and December 31 to January 1. Open on December 26, 29 & 30 from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., December 27 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.


  • Chino Youth Museum: Open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on December 27.


  • Ayala Park Operation Center: Closed on December 24, 25, 31, and January 1.


  • Preserve Community Center: Closed from December 24 to January 1.


Waste Management Collection Services: 

Please note that Waste Management waste collection services will be delayed by one day if your trash collection day falls on December 25, 26, or 27, or on January 1, 2, or 3.


Street Sweeping:

There will be no street sweeping services on Christmas Day, December 25, and on New Year's Day, January 1. Services will be delayed by one day if your street sweeping day falls on December 25, 26, or 27, or on January 1, 2, or 3.


Tree Recycling Program: 

Residents are encouraged to participate in the Tree Recycling program from December 26 to January 9. Trees should be placed at the curb on your regular collection day. After January 9, natural trees over 4 feet should be cut and placed in the green waste cart, or residents can request a bulky item pick-up. Multi-family dwellings should consult property management for designated collection areas. Please remove all decorations, including tinsel, lights, and ornaments. Flocked trees are not accepted.
