On Wednesday, November 8, 2023, at approximately 4:05 a.m., Chino Police officers located a commercial truck hauling a stolen commercial trailer in the area of Ramona Avenue and Edison Avenue.  Officers attempted to stop the vehicle and the driver of the commercial truck failed to stop. The driver of the truck intentionally drove over the front of a Chino Police vehicle with an officer still inside. The commercial truck was disabled, and two suspects fled from it. As officers pursued the suspects, one suspect entered an awaiting vehicle which then drove directly at Chino Police officers at a high rate of speed, narrowly missing one of the officers. At this time an officer-involved shooting occurred. The suspect vehicle fled and at least two suspects are outstanding. One suspect was taken into custody at the scene and no Chino Police officers were injured. At this time, it is unknown if any suspects were injured as a result of the officer-involved shooting.
