TWO NEW WARD MAPS PROPOSED

BY THE CITY OF CLINTON

After the current seven ward maps proposed to the city Board of Aldermen could not be agreed upon, Mayor Phil Fisher, joined by Alderman Chip Wilbanks and Alderman Jim Martin, went to CMPDD with the goal of reaching an agreement that would satisfy the rest of the Board, but more importantly, be fair to the citizens of Clinton.

Over a two-hour timeframe, two maps were created that accomplished all the requirements and minimally divided any subdivision between multiple Aldermen. This allows the Board a choice of plans (ward map 8 and ward map 9) to be discussed at the next work session, November 6th at the Olde Towne Train Depot beginning at 5:30 pm. If all goes well, a vote will be held at the regularly scheduled Board meetings on either November 21st or December 5th.
