Traffic Advisory


The following projects will have traffic impacts starting the evening of Friday, March 14:


DUNCANVILLE - Weather permitting, all lanes of eastbound I-20 will be closed and detoured to the frontage roads from near the Duncanville Road/North Main Street exit (MM 462) and Cockrell Hill Road from 10 p.m. Friday, March 14 to 5 a.m. Saturday, March 15 as part of an ongoing corridor improvement project. Drivers can expect delays in the corridor and should be alert to slower traffic. The overall project is expected to complete in early 2025, weather permitting.

Best Southwest Regional Active Shooter Exercise for First Responders

To best prepare Police, Fire, and 911 Dispatch personnel to respond to active shooter/active attacker events, the cities of Cedar Hill, DeSoto, Duncanville, and Lancaster joined forces for a large full-scale training exercise. The exercise took place all day Wednesday February 28, 2025 at Valley Ridge Park in Cedar Hill, Texas. Over the course of the day, 81 Police Officers, 45 Fire Personnel, and 12 Southwest Regional Communication Center (SWRCC) Dispatchers participated in multiple attack scenarios. Continued...

Man Sentenced to over 21 Years for $3,128,400.00 of Methamphetamine

Voter registration cards may be obtained online and at the Duncanville Public Library. The deadline to register to vote in the May election is April 3, 2025. For more information regarding voter registration, residents may contact the Dallas County Elections Department at (469) 627-VOTE (8683).


Early voting will be conducted Tuesday, April 22, 2025, through Tuesday, April 29, 2025, at the Duncanville Library Conference Rooms at 201 James Collins Blvd., Duncanville, TX 75116.

equivalent combination of education and/or experience will be accepted on a year for year basis.

The total qualifying equivalent combination is eight (8) years.

$31,200.00 - $52,000.00


MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

Requires a High School Diploma and current, active enrollment in an accredited college/university curriculum, majoring in Human Resources or a related program. The selected candidate must dedicate at least six-months to the internship, working at least 20 hours per week in the office.

$37,393.41 - $60,922.09


MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

High School Diploma or GED.

  • 1-year experience in maintenance and/or construction in water utilities, or a closely related field preferred.

No construction materials will be picked up. These items must be disposed of by the contractor or taken to Skyline Landfill for a $35 fee.
