The eviction moratorium ended on April 29, 2023. The Keep Fremont Housed – Housing Stability Program, a program of the City of Fremont’s Human Services Department, scheduled Eviction Information Workshops to inform tenants about the typical eviction process. The next workshop is scheduled for:

Join the AWC for a Saturday trip to Benicia for the 60th annual Peddler's Fair. This fair has over 300 antique and collectible dealers from all over the country. It is set in historic, downtown Benicia with beautiful views of the Carquinez Strait. The show offers connoisseurs and new collectors alike an opportunity to examine and purchase items. Comfortable walking shoes are advised. Trip includes transportation and driver gratuity. Lunch is on your own.

Church sites have opened their lots overnight and provide fellowship through a welcoming space, hot meals, clean portable bathrooms, and friendly volunteers. No RVs are permitted at this time.

School-Based Wellness Center Associate Mental Health Counselor


The City of Fremont is seeking four full time Post Graduate Associate Mental Health Counselors to provide school-based mental health services located at Wellness Centers in Fremont High and Middle Schools, for the 2023-2024 academic school year from August 14, 2023 through May 31, 2024. Associate Mental Health Counselor works four days a week at school sites and receive clinical training, supervision one day a week. Our Youth and Family Services Division is looking for an experienced Clinical Mental Health Program Coordinator who is responsible for overseeing the Early Childhood Mental Health Program and supervising clinicians. This position also provides direct counseling and early childhood consultation services to children 0-8 years, parents, and family members.

The Senior Citizens Commission assesses the needs of the older adult community, works with public, and private agencies to coordinate senior services, and monitors legislation of interest to seniors. AC Transit is reviewing and updating where, when, and how buses move throughout our service area. They are launching a top-to-bottom analysis of the system because travel patterns have not only changed in the wake of the pandemic, but they also face significant budget challenges. As a result, they will gather data and community input in the coming months to plan a new bus service network with the goal of better serving riders.

Medi-Cal Resuming Renewal Process


Since March 2020, Medi-Cal renewal processing was put on hold, and beneficiaries retained their Medi-Cal coverage due to the continuous coverage requirement. The continuous coverage requirement ended on March 31, 2023.


Alameda County Social Services Agency has resumed the Medi-Cal renewal process beginning April 2023. If you do not complete and submit your renewal packet, you may lose your Medi-Cal coverage starting July 1, 2023. Please review the attached flyer for complete information.

Naloxone Virtual Training


Alameda Healthcare for the Homeless is providing one-hour virtual Opioid Overdose Responder and Naloxone training to those who work or reside in Alameda County. There are several dates and times available.

Under the Coronavirus Response and Relief Supplemental Appropriations Act of 2021 and the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021, FEMA provides financial assistance for COVID-19 related funeral expenses incurred after January 20, 2020.

Affordable Home Renovations


Renew Alameda County helps homeowners make renovations necessary to stay, grow, and thrive in their homes. Renew AC can make home improvement plans come to life - without breaking the bank. Renew AC provides 1% interest loans from $15,000 to $150,000 to qualified homeowners. Simple interest is accrued annually, with total interest never to exceed 50% of the amount borrowed, and payments are deferred until the home is sold. Renew AC is for low-income homeowners who live in Alameda County.
