This is a test...

If you received a CodeRED email this morning or got a call or a text message - well done! You are successfully registered on the CodeRED emergency notification system. Jeffcom 911 tested the system today on behalf of Jefferson and Broomfield County law enforcement, fire and emergency medical service agencies. The test began at 9 a.m. this morning and took several hours.

The CodeRED emergency notification system  allows you to be quickly notified by your local emergency response team in the event of emergency situations or critical community alerts, including, but not limited to, evacuation notices, bio-terrorism alerts, boil water notices, and missing child reports.

If you did NOT receive a test message and think you should have, or if you are just now learning about the CodeRED system, you can go to your911.net to register for the notifications.

Please keep reading for more happening in Golden, and h ave a great week!

Current Projects
Old Mortuary Building Renovation

Renovation is taking place on the old mortuary building at 11th and Washington. The sidewalk will be closed during the demo and parking spots will temporarily be lost.

The sidewalk will re-open for downtown events however, so there will be pedestrian access during  the final Christmas Parade on  December 15.
Concrete Replacement Program

Concrete replacement work continues on Table Mountain Parkway. Work includes replacement of trip hazards, ADA accessible upgrades and replacement of deficient concrete.  Contact John Hardy at 303-384-8195 with questions.
Arapahoe Street Temporary Closure

Arapahoe Street, between 13th and 14th Streets (in front of Calvary Episcopal Church), is closed for construction activities as of December 3. The closure will last approximately 4 months. Parking spaces will also be lost during this time.

Buffalo Rose Construction

As construction continues on the Buffalo Rose, a pedestrian walkway is now in place and a few parking spaces on Washington Avenue will be impacted a little longer.

Ulysses Street Closure

Ulysses St. is still closed from South Golden Rd. to West 12th Ave. This closure will be in place for another couple of weeks.

During the closure, crews are installing new sidewalks, curbs and gutters, storm sewer and asphalt. For the duration of the closure, there is a detour in place via West 12th Ave.

Access to Ulysses Skate Park will be closed during this time, but the park will still be accessible from West 10th Ave. Contact John Hardy at 303-384-8195 with questions.
Washington Complete Street Project

Monday , October 22,  marked the beginning of the second phase of the North Washington Avenue Complete Street Project. This consists of a closure between Iowa Drive and 2nd Street.
Iowa remains open for east and west bound traffic but 2nd Street is not. There is a detour in place for thru traffic via Hwy 58. Resident access is maintained for those who live within the closure. As a reminder, Phase 1 and 2 run concurrently with full closures to thru traffic.

The road is anticipated to reopen mid-December (very soon!) depending on weather.  Washington is open to local traffic only. Other traffic is detoured to Hwy 58 and Hwy 93.
