ARTSWEEK GOLDEN kicks off with a colorful explosion!

Yarn bombing preparation
Driving or walking around downtown Golden this weekend, you might have noticed a little extra color bedecking our beloved bronze statues. The  Ladies Fancywork Society  embellished many of Golden's downtown sculptures with crocheted creations in a kick-off "Yarnbombing" event to ARTSWEEK GOLDEN.

Another important part of ARTSWEEK GOLDEN is tonight's premiere of the documentary Help, Hope, Strength at 6 p.m. at Foothills Art Center, 809 15th St. This documentary tells the story of the new mural on North Washington and the creative partnership between local students and Denver artist Jolt to bring hope and awareness to the important issue of mental health.

As always, there is a lot happening in Golden this summer, so keep reading, and have a great week!

Water Usage at 15 Year High

Despite rain over the weekend, we are diverting more water from Clear Creek than we have in 15 years. Demand in the city is very high, which means water bills will be higher.

Now would be a great time to register/look at the Aquahawk Alerting water usage monitoring system to see how much water you are using and set up alerts.

You can also check out our Water Conservation page to learn ways you can help conserve water and help Golden meet its long-term water conservation goals.

2018 Utilities Replacement

Work is being done on water main replacement between 4th and 5th from Cheyenne to Arapahoe Alley. Also, the  S. Golden Rd and Johnson Rd water main pipe will be fused this week.  Sewer main replacement in Arapahoe Gulch will be completed this week.
CSM Road Closure

16th Street from Illinois to Arapahoe Streets will be closed by the Colorado School of Mines until mid-August for stormwater and street improvements.

2018 Street Improvement Program

Martin Marietta has completed 75% of this year's program. They will return in mid-September to complete the remainder of the street paving for this year.

Golden Bike Park Work Day

The Golden Bike Park will be receiving maintenance work on Saturday, July 21 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. by volunteers, and as a result, course riding may be impacted. The City of Golden, in collaboration with resident volunteers and the Golden GiddyUp, will work to maintain the integrity and safety of the park.
