We hope you had a safe and fun Labor Day weekend! In addition to being the cut-off date for wearing white, it's also a date that reminds us summer is waving goodbye and autumn is knocking at the door. Lucky for us, autumn along the Front Range is beautiful, and we look forward the show nature has in store. Before you start unpacking the parkas, however, we have a few warm days left, and several activities to enjoy them with, including the annual Fire & Safety Preparedness Day happening this Saturday. This is a great opportunity to meet Golden firefighters and learn more about keeping yourself and your loved ones safe. Read on for this week's run-down of the when and where of all the other great things happening in Golden, and have a great week (you can still wear white if you want to - we won't judge)!

Safety tips for dealing with rattlesnakes
If you've seen a rattlesnake around town, you're not alone. According to Jamie Segal, Code Enforcement Officer with the Golden Police Department, the number of snakes seems to cycle up and down each year, and this year has seen an uptick.
The rattlesnakes we have here in Golden are prairie rattlers. They are a fairly non-aggressive species, tending to be much more defensive. If you see one, Officer Segal advises the best thing you can do is leave them alone.
