Construction Project Progress

Construction Project Progress: Crews continue work on important improvements in the city.

  • Old Alabama Road Trail: Crews have completed clearing and continue to work on the sidewalk installation. Sidewalk pouring continued through the month of December, and should be completed in early January, weather permitting. Motorists are advised to use caution in the project area.

  • Medlock Bridge Road intersection improvements (Skyway Drive to Bell Road): Crews continue utility relocation and saw-cutting the existing roadway on northbound Medlock Bridge Road to prepare for the storm drain installation. Crews worked on the road widening for the southbound third lane on Medlock Bridge Road at and south of its intersection with Skyway Drive.

  • Jones Bridge Road Widening (Waters Road to State Bridge Road): Crews continue installing storm drain lines near the Jones Bridge Road and Buice Road intersection and are working on constructing retaining walls. Curb and gutter construction has begun along portions of the roadway.

  • Taylor Road Pedestrian Lights: In an effort to expand pedestrian visibility and safety, the City has installed nine new street lights along Taylor Road from Anclote Drive to Starfire Lane. The corridor has a high volume of pedestrian traffic due to the proximity of several subdivisions and Chattahoochee High School.
