Dear Neighbors:
During the past two weeks, I have witnessed a community in action to help stop the spread of the coronavirus. We joined together with neighbors, friends and family to ensure everyone was equipped and ready for the "stay at home" directive announced last Sunday. And, as a community, we have done our best to respect the recommended guidelines to help keep Kettering safe.
As you know, our City facilities are closed to the public to protect employees and our residents. Please know that City employees are still working to provide our residents the exceptional services to which they are accustomed. Please call, email or use the City's online services to tackle your to-do list. The journey may a bit different, but your service destination will continue to be no less than a five-star experience.
We are all trying to embrace this new normal. We worry about our loved ones and the overall impact this pandemic will have. Our busy lives have come to a screeching halt compared with the activities that once filled our days and evenings. For some, this is a lonely time. Others are adjusting to kids attending school online and parents working from home. And, together, we continue to do our part to follow the guidelines, help one another and make the best of this.
All around us, kids are playing in their yards, families are taking walks together and neighbors are catching up and having a laugh while respecting distance. I believe the power of human connection will prevail through all of the sadness, hardship and fear surrounding COVID-19.
Please continue to support Kettering's business owners, and encourage your friends to do the same. Also, you should have received your 2020 Census packet to be completed. Please take a few minutes to submit this important information.
Kettering is home to residents who are gracious and kind. We are a strong, compassionate community; and, we will come through this even stronger.
Sincerely,
