City of Leesville: Update in City Accounting Software Will Cause Early Closure, Delays in Posting of Payments
Please disregard the previous press release, as it was meant to be part of a more detailed release. The announcement in its entirety is included below.

LEESVILLE, La.--City residents should be aware that the transition to a new software will result in an early closure of the Finance Department on Friday, February 26, 2016 and  throughout the week of February 29. The transition will also likely cause delays in the posting of payments for water bills, taxes, and business licenses.

The City of Leesville Finance Department is updating its accounting software the week of February 29, 2016 - March 4, 2016. The Water Department will close at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, February 26 and will also close at 4 p.m. each day from Monday, February 29-March 4, 2016.

No payments of any form will be taken between the hours of 1:30 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. Friday, February 26 and after 4 p.m. each day from February 29-March 4. Payment receipt will occur from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day from February 29-March 4.

If you need to make a payment by Friday, February 26, please make arrangements to do so before 1:30 p.m. on that date. You may also make payments over the phone before 1:30 p.m. on Friday, February 26, 2016 by calling 337-238-2257/2258.

Payments taken during the week of February 29 will not be posted until the week of March 7-11, 2016. If you make a payment anytime between February 29 through March 4, please do not expect to see it posted to your bank account until the week of March 7-11.

The City apologizes for any inconvenience the transition may cause; however, employees will be working diligently to ensure that all payments are posted appropriately once the new system is up and running.

Please note that neither an early closure of the City's Finance Department nor a delay in posting in any way affects due dates of water payments, tax payments or business license payments. Water bills will become delinquent March 16. Tax payments were due January 31. If tax payments are not paid by March 1, 2016, then an additional $96 late fee and a 1 percent delinquency fee will be added to the amount due. Business licenses become delinquent March 1, 2016.

The City of Leesville Water Department would like to encourage customers to bring in their water bill when they come to pay. Doing so will speed up the payment process for all customers in case access to account information is unavailable.

Again, ALL payments will continue to be accepted during the week of February 29 - March 4.

For questions, more information, or to make payments over the phone during the designated times, please call 238-2257/2258.
