Cool off and meet some cool Lone Tree officers! Bring the family for popsicles and other chilly treats, see some patrol cars, and chat with our officers. There will also be plenty of games and a fun photo booth!

Bike to Work Day

June 25, 6:30 am - 9 am

Stop by our breakfast station at the intersection of the C-470 Trail and Willow Creek Trail! Swap a car trip for a ride on your bike in celebration of this annual event focused on reducing traffic congestion and improving air quality.

Spring Yard Waste Clean-up for Lone Tree Residents Who Receive Free Trash and Recycling


Since all waste must be included in your trash containers as part of the City's renewed contract with Waste Connections, Lone Tree is offering a clean up of yard waste during the weeks of June 2 through June 23. Residents who receive free trash from the City can place their yard waste, including leaves and tree branches, out with their regularly scheduled trash day for pickup. In addition, the Douglas County Slash/Mulch Site is now open for all County residents, Saturdays through October 25. Residents can drop off yard waste like tree limbs, shrubs, pinecones, grass clippings, and brush. Find more information here>>

Lone Tree Has a New Comprehensive Plan


After an extensive two-year process, the City successfully completed the Comprehensive Plan update, Lone Tree Elevated, which was officially adopted by City Council in February 2025. Lone Tree Elevated was designed to shape the City’s growth and development over the next decade and beyond, serving as a guiding document for City leaders, businesses, and residents. 


The plan outlines shared vision for land use, transportation, parks and open space, infrastructure, housing, economic development, the natural environment, and other topics that influence the City’s growth and development, all while protecting the quality of life of the community. Learn more and read the plan>>

Lone Tree Police Launch Community Outreach Program for Older Adults


The Lone Tree Police Department is launching a new community outreach program aimed at supporting the City’s older adults, ensuring they remain connected to essential resources, services, and social opportunities.


This initiative is designed to combat isolation among seniors, helping them navigate the challenges and opportunities of living and aging while fostering a sense of belonging within the community. Learn more>>

Dan Tyminski Band

Throughout his 30+ year career, Tyminski has left his mark in every corner of modern music. His voice famously accompanies George Clooney’s performance of the Stanley Brothers’ classic song, “I Am A Man of Constant Sorrow,” in the film, Oh Brother, Where Art Thou? and his vocal collaboration with Swedish DJ Avicii on the song “Hey Brother” was a global smash, having been streamed more than a billion times to date. His diverse solo projects and years of work with Alison Krauss and Union Station have yielded troves of award-winning music. In recent years, Tyminski’s live shows with the Dan Tyminski Band have become bluegrass fan favorites and are regularly on the must-see lists among music fans of any genre.

The Lone Tree Golf Club & Hotel hosts Music on the Patio beginning June 4. Enjoy music from popular local bands along with food and beverage specials on the first Wednesday of every month and every Friday all summer long. These events are free, but space is limited. Bring your lawn chairs and get ready to jam at the Summer Beats concert, brought to you in partnership with RidgeGate! Enjoy a free concert by Ninety Percent 90s at Prairie Sky Park. Food trucks and activities start at 5 pm, and the band will hit the stage at 6 pm.


South Suburban Public Art Committee: Applications Open Now

The South Suburban Public Art Committee invites interested community members to apply to serve as at-large members. The committee is an appointed volunteer body that offers an informed opinion to the Board of Directors regarding art in public places. Committee members must live within the District, attend monthly meetings, and be able to serve a minimum three-year term. Find more information and an application here.

2025 Matching Gifts Program

Each year, South Suburban’s Matching Gifts Program helps individuals, neighborhoods, homeowner associations, sports groups, businesses and other organizations turn their ideas into reality. Applications for 2025 projects are open, submit an application by May 31 to share your ideas for improvements across the District.

Centennial Airport

The Centennial Airport Runway 5K takes place on June 7, 2025, and offers the community the opportunity to run or walk on a real runway while supporting a great cause. Last year, thanks to the generosity of our community, we raised over $65,000 for the Centennial Airport Foundation, which funded three new aviation-focused scholarships. Learn all the details>>

RidgeGate

Yoga in the Park

May 27, 6:30 - 7:30 pm


On the last Tuesday of each month, May through August, instructor Gwen Jackman will bring your energy back to center with a restorative, relaxing yoga practice appropriate for all levels, from newbies to experienced yogis. Breathe deeply….ahhhhh. Please bring your own mat, water bottle and towel to all classes. In case of heavy rain or lightning, class will be cancelled.


Schweiger Ranch Natural Heritage Walking Tours with South Suburban Parks & Rec – Wildflowers

June 7, 8:30 - 10:00 am


Schweiger Ranch has teamed up with South Suburban Parks & Recreation District to provide free, guided walking tours led by professional naturalists from SSPRD. These tours offer insight and education into the natural environment on and around Schweiger Ranch, while offering a chance to get some fresh air and exercise. Registration is required.


Guided Nature Hikes - Birds at Sunset

June 1, 6:30 - 8:00 pm


Look for birds before sunset, when they are actively feeding. Feel free to bring your own binoculars or just enjoy the sights and sounds of birding with the human eyes and ears. Learn which characteristics will help you identify various species while exploring the trail with an excellent birder/nature lover. Registration is required.


Guided Nature Hikes - Strawberry Moon

June 10, 8:00 - 9:30 pm


Meet at the picnic shelter then climb a gentle slope to experience the rising moon (8:31 pm). We’ll be descending in twilight and by the light of the full moon, using only our human night vision. Flashlights for emergencies only, please.


Meet at the Bluffs Regional parking lot off of Crooked Stick Trail, south of Lincoln and off of Ridgegate Parkway. We’ll walk the Bluffs Regional Trail, so expect a moderate incline with little to no shade and a gravel path that doesn’t accommodate strollers well. Come dressed for the weather with sturdy walking shoes, drinking water, sunblock, hat and insect repellent as desired. Registration is required.
