City of Long Beach Updates Health Order
The City of Long Beach Health and Human Service Department has issued an updated Health Order, effective at 11:59 p.m. on Friday, September 17, 2021, requiring proof of vaccination in select high-risk settings starting October 7, implementing protocols for youth sports, and updates to the blanket quarantine and isolation orders.


Long Beach City's updated Health Order is in alignment with Los Angeles County’s order, released on Friday, September 17.
Business License Tax and Fee Grant Deadline is September 30, 2021
The deadline for the Business License Tax and Fee Grant is fast approaching apply by September 30, 2021! This grant provides financial relief to full-service independently owned restaurants by paying the following business license taxes and fees charged by the City between the period of January 1, 2020, through December 31, 2020:

1. Business License Taxes
2. Parking and Business Improvement Area Assessments
3. Health Permit Fees
4. Fire Permit Fees
5. Penalty or late payment fees incurred in the eligible period for the above taxes or fees

Approximately $1.3 million is available for the new program. The maximum grant available per eligible business will depend on the total taxes and fees each business was charged between January 1, 2020, and December 31, 2020.

Round 8 and 9 Close September 30, 2021 for California Small Business COVID-19 Relief
Round 8 of the California Small Business COVID-19 Relief Grant has been extended. Eligible applicants for round 8 are only non-profit cultural institutions with any revenue size that meet eligibility criteria found at CAReliefGrant.com. Businesses may be eligible for a grant award between $5,000 – $25,000.

Round 9 will continue to stay open through Thursday, September 30, 2021. Eligible applicants are current waitlisted applicants from certain previous rounds and new applicants that meet eligibility criteria.
Request for Information (RFI) Park Operators & Concessionaires New Deadline, September 27, 2021
The City of Long Beach Parks, Recreation and Marine (PRM) Department has updated the Request for Information to look for potential vendors in the marketplace who have expertise and experience operating and servicing park spaces with a range of amenities, food, drinks, and programming. Potential vendors are able to submit ideas for any park located in the City of Long Beach. Parks that are highlighted in the RFI are Lincoln, Willow Springs, and El Dorado Regional Parks.
 
The goals of the RFI are to identify potential vendors who can provide concessionaire services that: (1) enhance park users' experience and offer new services at various park locations; (2) generate revenue via a revenue-share that can support PRM services such as park operations and maintenance; and (3) engage well-qualified, experienced business owners to develop, operate, and maintain food and beverage concessions, event spaces, retail, recreation, or other customer-oriented services.
 
The submission process is simple and quick! Vendors are asked to submit a Yes/No questionnaire, brief examples of relevant experience, and the submission of one or several concept(s).
