City Encourages Residents to Celebrate Safely Over Fourth of July Weekend
To keep the city’s residents and visitors safe, all personal fireworks, even those deemed “Safe and Sane,” are illegal in the City of Long Beach.

Commercial Rental Assistance Grant Still Accepting Applications
Do you have a business in a Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) area? The Long Beach Commercial Rental Assistance Grant can provide financial relief to eligible small businesses to pay your commercial lease payments. Businesses can receive up to $4,000!

Deadline to apply is Thursday, July 22, 2021, at 5 p.m. For more information, businesses may visit the City’s Commercial Rental Assistance Grant webpage to review eligibility requirements and submit an application.

​The PBZ Grant is awarded in amounts ranging from $500-$5000 and is designed to help business owners offset the cost of operational expenses such as​:
  • Business filings (license, incorporations etc.)
  • ​Funds towards deposit of rent or other down payment
  • Subscriptions for service (zoom, GoDaddy, legal zoom)
  • Development of a website or app

In addition, the grant may be used to sponsor nonprofits that support these entrepreneurs, but the funds must go directly to entrepreneurs in the form of prizes for Pitch contest, working capital, low interest loan etc.
City of Long Beach COVID-19 Relief Payment Plan
The new COVID-19 Relief Payment Program provides residents and businesses adversely impacted by COVID-19 additional time to pay interest-free and penalty-free payments over time for parking citations and most business-related and general fees, allowing up to 18 months to complete the payments. 
 
Payment plans for business-related and general fees will be available beginning July 1, 2021.

City of Long Beach Small Business Loan

The Microenterprise Loan Program is designed to support Long Beach small businesses. Loans are between $25,000 to $100,000 and are available for small businesses operating in Long Beach. Loan proceeds may go toward business expenses, such as personnel, rent, supplies/materials, utilities, professional services, and more. Businesses must be a for-profit entity. All loans must be approved by the City's Loan Committee.
