COVID-19 Vaccines
Miami-Dade County is coordinating closely with hospital and healthcare partners, the Florida Department of Health, municipalities, and private partners to vaccinate members of our community against the COVID-19 as quickly and efficiently as possible.

For updated information about where vaccines are currently available and to answer frequently asked questions about the vaccine, please click here. This site will be updated frequently as updates become available.

Mount Sinai Medical Center
Mount Sinai Medical Center is providing vaccines to Miami-Dade County first responders and individuals who are 75 years or older.
  • Call 305.674.2312 to schedule an appointment, Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday through Sunday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.
  • No walk-ins will be accepted

Jackson Health System
Jackson Health System (JHS) offers an online platform for Miami-Dade County residents age 65 or older to request a vaccination appointment. If you are unable to schedule an appointment, please return to their page routinely for ongoing updates as they receive additional vaccines.


Hard Rock Stadium
The State of Florida will be providing drive-thru vaccination at the state-sponsored testing site at Hard Rock Stadium starting Friday, January 8. Hard Rock Stadium will offer the vaccine to all individuals 65 years of age and older and frontline health care workers. Appointments for the Hard Rock Stadium location can be made via the online scheduler or by calling 1.800.581.5123, until all appointments are full.


V-Safe After Vaccination Checker
V-Safe is a smartphone-based tool that uses text messaging and web surveys to provide personalized health check-ins after you receive a COVID-19 vaccination. V-Safe will remind you to get your second COVID-19 vaccine dose if you need one. Click here to learn more.

COVID-19 Testing
Drive-thru and walk-up COVID-19 testing continues on 17 Street and Convention Center Drive. We encourage you to pre-register for the walk-up site by clicking here or make your appointment for the drive-thru site here.

Immunization Program
Starting Monday, January 11, 2021 until further notice, the Miami-Dade Department of Health Immunization Program will be tasked with COVID-19 Vaccination Response and will not schedule any other vaccines at this time.

If any community members are in need of other types of vaccines (school immunizations, travel, etc.), please refer to the Federally Qualified Health Centers here.
South Beach Food Distribution
Commissioner David Richardson's office will host their weekly food distribution in South Beach on Saturday, January 9.

Healthy Together App
Floridians are working to slow the spread of COVID-19. We can work together to protect our family members, friends, health workers and our communities. The Healthy Together app delivers your results, assesses symptoms for positive cases, provides self service contact tracing, allows you to view latest trends and what to do after you've been tested for COVID-19.

  • Provide symptoms and contacts: Positive residents can provide symptoms to the state.

Users own their data and can delete the data at any time. The use of your data is limited to COVID-19 response efforts. No location data will be ever collected and stored.
General City Updates
Peafowl Population Relocation
Based on multiple requests from Miami Beach residents, the city has begun a program to relocate peafowl from the Bayshore neighborhood. The birds will be humanely transported to a sanctuary where they will be protected.
 
As part of the relocation effort, you may notice cages throughout the Bayshore neighborhood. We ask you not to tamper with the cages or attempt to handle the birds in any way. This is for your safety as well as the safety of the birds. If you spot peafowl inside one of the cages before our team arrives, or you wish to report a peafowl concern in your neighborhood, please contact us directly at 305.673.7631.

Join the City of Miami Beach for a public design charrette on the North Beach Community Redevelopment Agency Plan beginning January 11 - 15, 2021.

Movie in the Park

Fire Cadets
Are your teens interested in a career as a firefighter? The Miami Beach Fire and Parks & Recreation departments have teamed up for the new Fire Cadet program!

Coursework includes a physical and academic portion with hands-on training in first aid, fire prevention and firefighting skills.

The program begins on January 17, 2021 through May 15, 2021 and is open the Miami Beach high school students in grades 9 - 12.

Classes will be held on Sundays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Registration fee is $150 with a monthly $20 fee. Register now at register.miamibeachparks.com.
2021 Youth Music Festival
Auditions are open for the fifth annual Miami Beach Youth Music Festival! The festival will take place at the North Beach Bandshell on Saturday, March 13, 2021. Those aged 18 years and younger, and bands or individuals that perform live music of any genre, including rock, jazz, Latin, electronic, folk, classical, funk and spoken word are welcome to audition.

Participants must be able to perform live and play a musical instrument; recorded music is not allowed. Additionally, at least one individual must also be a Miami Beach resident or attend a Miami Beach school.
 
Participant applications can now be found at www.miamibeach.rocks. The deadline to apply is 5 p.m. on January 31, 2021. All applicants must adhere to CDC guidelines for gatherings, practice social distance and mask wearing. More information regarding recommended precautions can be found on the festival website.
