The City of Miami Beach has extended the city’s State of Emergency Declaration and Emergency Measures through October 28, 2020.

All retail stores outside of the MXE, including package liquor stores, grocery stores, convenience stores, and gasoline service/filling stations, which offer for sale any alcoholic beverage(s), (including, but not limited to, liquor, beer, or wine) for off-premises consumption may sell alcoholic beverages pursuant to those times delineated in Section 6-3 of the Code of Laws and Ordinances of the City of Miami Beach. Retail stores selling alcoholic beverages within the MXE must still close at 8 p.m. per City Code.

Notwithstanding the foregoing, package liquor stores and other retail stores selling alcoholic beverages for off-premises consumption must still adhere to the curfew established throughout Miami-Dade County pursuant to County EO 27-20, as amended. Such curfew will be in effect daily from 12 a.m. to 6 a.m.

COVID-19 Updates
COVID-19 Testing
The COVID-19 Testing site at the Miami Beach Convention Center can do both the antigen ("rapid tests") and PCR testing. Staff primarily conducts antigen testing but if the test comes back positive they will do the PCR test. If the patient is symptomatic they will do the PCR test as well. The drive up testing only conducts PCR testing.

This antigen test is a nasal swab test with results reported to the patient within 4 hours or less. It is offered from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily or until the site reaches the maximum 350 daily allotted tests. 

The Miami Beach Convention Center testing facility is located on 17 Street and Convention Center Drive. The COVID-19 drive-thru and walk-up testing site is available daily, including weekends, from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m., except for Thursdays where the site closes at 3:30 p.m. Visit our 'Testing' tab to view detailed information on all testing locations.
Virtual Culture
The Garden After Dark series brings live music to the garden in a fun and safe environment! Today, October 22, from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m., the Miami Beach Botanical Garden will feature the rhythm and soul of Eddy Balzola. Come out and enjoy your favorite tunes by Bob Marley, Sting, Marvin Gaye, U2 and more in a safe, beautiful, and socially distanced environment.

This event will feature:

  • Pop-up Shops
  • Stretch with Will Thomas at 6 p.m. on the Great Lawn
  • Shop and Tour with Gaylord
  • View “En Plein Air” art exhibit and meet the artist, Gaspar Saldhana
  • Visit the Garden Center
  • Cocktails available for purchase

South Beach Food Distribution
Feeding South Florida and Commissioner David Richardson will host their weekly food distribution on Saturday, October 24 in North Beach.

Election Season
With election day less than two weeks away, it's time to get to the polls! Visit our City webpage for more information on the November 3 General Election and view our bilingual Voter's Guide with information on the six city questions that will be on the ballot.

Early voting is underway now through November 1 from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. You can vote early at any Miami-Dade County Early Voting site, including the two sites located in the City of Miami Beach:

Miami Beach Virtual Salsa Festival
Commissioner Michael Gongora will be hosting the virtual Miami Beach Salsa festival on Saturday, November 7.
