Commission Meeting
The next Commission meeting being held tomorrow, April 22 at 8:30 a.m.

How the public can observe the Commission Meeting (no public comment):
The Commission Meeting will be broadcast live on Miami Beach TV (MBTV) viewable on the City’s website at  https://www.miamibeachfl.gov/government/mbtv , as well as on Atlantic Broadband Cable channel 660, AT&T U-verse channel 99, Hotwire Communications channel 395, and on a ROKU device on the PEG.TV channel or on social media at  facebook.com/cityofmiamibeach

  • Online: Click https://us04web.zoom.us/j/235797272 to join the webinar online. Use a current, up-to-date browser: Chrome 30+, Firefox 27+, Microsoft Edge 12+, Safari 7+. Certain functionality may be disabled in older browsers including Internet Explorer.
  1. Enter an email address and name. The name will be visible online and will be used to notify you that it is your turn to speak.
  2. When the Mayor calls for the item on which you wish to speak, click on "raise hand."
  3. Speakers will be notified shortly before they are called to speak.

The Division of Florida Condominiums & Timeshares Series
Many people throughout Florida live in condominium or cooperative units. Did you know that there are Florida Statutes that these types of communities need to follow? The State of Florida, Department of Business and Professional Regulation, Division of Condominiums Timeshares and Mobile Homes, provides informative presentations to board members, unit owners, and even prospective buyers of these communities. In an effort to inform the public on the related statutes and with the current health concerns in our state, they are currently offering virtual presentations.

Finance Meeting
The Finance and Economic Resiliency Committee will meet Friday, April 24 at 10 a.m. virtually via Zoom. The meeting will also be streamed live on MBTV channel 660 on Atlantic Broadband or channel 99 on AT&T U-Verse.

Feeding the Frontline
Created to help out local restaurants,  Miami Eats  has now expanded its efforts to also support your local front-line medical staff, police and fire first-responders through  Meals for Heroes Miami

COVID-19 Testing

Seniors
The City of Miami Beach is offering in-home COVID-19 testing  for homebound Miami Beach seniors that are 65 years and older and are experiencing symptoms   associated with the coronavirus  — including fever, shortness of breath or a persistent cough.

Testing is  by appointment only  and residents who meet the criteria should call the city’s customer service center at 305.604.CITY (2489) to request an appointment. The customer service center is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Since there are a limited number of tests, the city asks that only seniors that meet the criteria schedule an appointment.

In-home testing for homebound residents is provided by MedRite with the assistance of the Miami Beach Fire Department.
MedRite
MedRite is operating a mobile testing center in Miami Beach. The site is also taking appointments for all frontline workers , including first responders, healthcare workers and employees of essential businesses (grocery stores, pharmacies, etc.), in South Florida.

Pre-registration is required, please visit www.medriteurgentcare.com/covid/ to make your appointment.

Free WiFi Courtesy of Comcast
As students continue distance learning and thousands of employees work from home, Comcast has been providing free access to Xfinity WiFi service to everyone (with over 18 million hot spots nationwide) since April 6 for 60 days. This includes existing Comcast consumers & non-Comcast consumers.
 
For a map of Xfinity WiFi hotspots, visit www.xfinity.com/wifi. Once at a hotspot, consumers should select the “xfinitywifi” network name in the list of available hotspots, and then launch a browser.”

Meals for Seniors
If you are a senior citizen 60 years or older and are having problems getting meals, please call Miami-Dade County’s 311 Call Center between the hours of 7 a.m. and 7 p.m . and you will be immediately patched in with their Emergency Operations Center to get you the meals or other services that you may need. If you are not a senior, we still encourage you to share this message with any senior you may know.

City of Miami Beach Emergency Declarations
The City Manager has extended his State of Emergency Declaration through April 23, 2020.  The city has also extended its “Safer at Home” Emergency Order , as well as its Emergency Measures , through April 23, 2020. 
Mandatory Face Coverings
Remember, Miami-Dade County has issued Emergency Order 20-20, mandating persons working in or visiting grocery stores, restaurants, pharmacies, construction sites, public transit vehicles, vehicles for hire, and locations where social distancing measures are not possible to wear facial coverings as defined by the Centers for Disease Control & Prevention (CDC).

Miami Beach Restaurants - Takeout and Delivery
The City of Miami Beach is maintaining the general curfew throughout the city beginning at midnight each night, but permits restaurants to continue to operate their kitchens after midnight, for delivery services only .
