The City of Miami Beach is committed to keeping our residents, businesses and visitors informed. Please read the latest information below on the city's efforts to slow the spread of COVID-19.
Phase 1 Reopening
This Wednesday, May 20, 2020 various retail stores, personal grooming establishments, offices and museums are set to reopen as part of the city’s Phase 1 Reopening Emergency Order . The city’s order provides that restaurants and sidewalk cafes may reopen on Wednesday, May 27, 2020 as part of phase 1b.

Visit www.miamibeachfl.gov/reopening to read the mandatory guidelines and best practices for each industry. The website is currently populated with phase 1a and phase 1b guidelines.

Additionally, Ocean Drive is closed to vehicular traffic to allow restaurants in Phase 1B to extend their footprint — allowing for additional capacity. It also offers an opportunity for residents and visitors to walk or cycle this iconic street.
Restaurant Recovery Outdoor Seating Pilot Program
The City of Miami Beach intends to provide additional opportunities for restaurants to provide outdoor dining in an effort to promote the economic recovery of the city’s restaurants, as well as provide an opportunity for residents and visitors to resume dining at local businesses. Accordingly, on May 13, 2020, the City Commission adopted Resolution No. 2020-31276, creating the Restaurant Recovery Outdoor Seating Pilot Program

This program is intended to be temporary in nature, and shall remain in effect through September 30, 2020, or until otherwise extended. It will supplement the city’s formal sidewalk café permit process, in a business-friendly manner and to allow for an expedited process. To this end, the city’s standard requirement for stamped engineering plans will be waived. Click here for additional details and to view the application.
