Beach Reopening Postponed/Countywide Curfew
Miami-Dade County Mayor Gimenez issued a statement on Sunday, May 31 regarding the postponement of reopening beaches and a countywide 9 p.m. curfew that applies to the City of Miami Beach. Beaches will remain closed until further notice, click here to view the County's full statement.
North Beach Drive-Thru Food Distribution
South Florida Seniors in Action, Farm Share Florida and Commissioner David Richardson will host a drive-thru food distribution on Wednesday, June 3.

The food distribution is on a first come, first serve basis while supplies last. Please remain in your car and open the trunk when it's your turn in line.

Food Giveaway
Caleb & Calder Sloan's Foundation along with the Miami Beach JCC and Commissioner David Richardson will be giving out groceries to 500 families on Thursday, June 4.

There will be kosher food available upon request. Groceries will be distributed on a first come, first serve basis.

Special Commission Meeting
A Special Commission meeting is being held on Friday, June 5 at 9 a.m. and will be televised on MBTV and streamed live on  Facebook .

We continue to bring Virtual Sustainachella to provide the community with the knowledge and tools necessary to live a more sustainable lifestyle.

COVID-19 Rent Assistance
We have launched an online portal for pre-applications for rent assistance. Residents seeking rent assistance can apply online by visiting our online portal , after verifying their eligibility for City funds. Applications will be accepted now through Friday, June 5 at 11:59 p.m. On Monday, June 8, the City will hold a randomized lottery of applications received online.

The lottery will establish the order of service for those seeking the City's limited rent funds. Subsequent to the lottery, applicants will be notified by the City (in the order of selection) of the date and time to report with the required documentation to formally process the rent request.

The City will process rent requests until rent assistance funds are exhausted. Results of the drawing will be posted on the City's website. Applicants must provide hard copies of the following documents and meet income eligibility.
Virtual Specialty Summer Camp
The Parks and Recreation Department is offering Virtual Specialty Camp programming for Summer 2020! Registration for Virtual Specialty Summer Camp classes is open to residents , and camp will begin on Monday, June 8, space is limited.

  • Dance Camp (beginners, intermediate and advanced sessions)

Facial Covering Requirements
 Face coverings  MUST be worn at all retail and commercial businesses. If you are visiting one of our open parks/greenspaces and/or beachwalks/baywalks, you must wear a face covering unless social distancing can be achieved.

This does not apply to children under the age of 2, person's who have trouble breathing due to chronic pre-existing conditions or persons engaged in strenuous physical activity.

All city parks and tennis centers that are currently open close at 8 p.m. South Pointe Park is closed on the weekends.

Hybrid Testing Site
The COVID-19 testing facility at the Miami Beach Convention Center campus has the capacity for up to 750 tests per day. Testing is FREE and available to anyone, 18 years or older, regardless of COVID-19 symptoms. A patient that has been tested is welcome to be retested at any time.

Meals for Seniors
If you are a senior citizen 60 years or older and are having problems getting meals, please call Miami-Dade County’s 311 Call Center between the hours of 7 a.m. and 7 p.m . and you will be immediately patched in with their Emergency Operations Center to get you the meals or other services that you may need. If you are not a senior, we still encourage you to share this message with any senior you may know.
