The City Manager has extended the city’s  State of Emergency Declaration  and  Emergency Measures  through  July 29, 2020 .

Any violation of the emergency measures shall subject the individual, operator, business entity, or organization to arrest and criminal prosecution pursuant to Section 26-36 and Section 1-14 of the City Code. Furthermore, any violation of the provisions of this Order may subject an operator, business entity, or organization to the closure of the establishment for a period of at least 24 hours, or through the duration of the State of Emergency.

Reminder, Miami Beach Police and Code Officers are giving out $50 civil citations for anyone not wearing a facial covering while in a public place or space.

We urge everyone to also continue practicing social distancing and meticulously wash your hands regularly. The Countywide curfew for the remainder of the city, excluding the 8 p.m. curfew for the South Beach Entertainment District, remains in effect from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. daily.
Washington Avenue Social Distancing Plan
Following close coordination and planning with the Washington Avenue Business Improvement District (BID), the city has developed a plan to partially close Washington Avenue to vehicular traffic and create a pedestrian and bicycle boulevard that meets the needs of the community, businesses and visitors during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Beginning this week, the city will re-stripe portions of Washington Avenue to better assist restaurants with outside seating needs. The traffic pattern on Washington Avenue between 5 - 16 streets will be reduced to one lane in each direction.

Restaurants can expand using the existing sidewalks and parking lanes. This measure will also activate additional space for walkers, joggers, cyclists, skaters and other outdoor activities.
