Monterey Police Participate in Monterey County Seat Belt Safety Campaign, Nov. 15 - 21
BUCKLE UP! The Monterey County seat belt safety campaign, "Click-it-or-Ticket," will kick off Nov. 15th through Nov. 21st.
Applications Open for Various City of Monterey Boards and Commissions
Serving on a Board or Commission is a great way to get involved in what makes Monterey a great place to live. The City of Monterey is now accepting applications from City residents for the following:
  • Disabled Access Appeals Board
  • Historic Preservation Commission
  • Museums and Cultural Arts Commission
  • Parks and Recreation Commission
  • Neighborhood and Community Improvement Program (NCIP) Committee*
* Applications are being accepted for the NCIP committee for the position of alternate for the following neighborhoods: Aguajito Oaks, Alta Mesa, Deer Flats, Del Monte Beach, Del Monte Grove Laguna Grande, and Glenwood
Dangers of Turkey Fryers and More Winter Holiday Safety Tips from Monterey Fire
The Monterey Fire Department wants to remind everyone to be aware of potential fire hazards in your home during winter months and over the holidays. Cooking safety tips also emphasize the importance of knowing how to deep fry a turkey correctly, if that's the cooking option you choose. Many fires start from deep frying turkeys. Monterey Recreation Preschool Program - Reserve Your Child's Spot Now!
Monterey Recreation is excited to announce that they are in the process of planning to open a second, in-person Preschool Program at Hilltop Park Center. This preschool class will begin in January and space will be limited to 10 students due to COVID-19.
