New, Socially Distanced, Outdoor Holiday Photo Opportunity in Monterey
The City of Monterey planted a new pine tree outside Colton Hall recently, and the sapling reminded us of the iconic Charlie Brown tree so lovingly popularized in the holiday television specials watched by generations over many years. We want to share our holiday spirit by suggesting the tree become a new icon for what this year has brought to all of us. Yes, the pandemic and all the woes that followed. A photo with the new tree outside Colton Hall can be a good remembrance of how we persevered and got through the year together.
On this Giving Tuesday, we celebrate you. We can all be so proud of how our community has stepped up, lent a helping hand, gave support, and continue to give throughout this whole pandemic. From volunteering, to donations, to reaching out to check on family and friends. We are a strong, vibrant, resilient community and we can all be proud of both individual and group contributions. Thank you to all the wonderful non-profits who work so hard to support the giving efforts in our community. A shout out also to the people who needed or need help. We all can use help at some point or another, and it's important when you do need help that you reach out and ask. After all, that's community. Thank you, Monterey community, for your giving, caring, and kindness.
