FROM THE CITY OF MONTEREY
COVID-19 & More...Local Update
December 4, 2020
FriYAY!
Welcome to the first weekend of December 2020. Thank you to the Rotary Club of Monterey for decorating Colton Hall for the holidays! Also, thank you, residents, for safely supporting our local businesses this holiday shopping season. Small businesses make our business districts special. Buying local will also help employment, and support important services and programs, like reopening our unique cultural assets including city museums when it is safe to do so. Enjoy the weather and holiday decor around town this weekend.
Monterey Firefighters Holiday Toy Drive
Your Monterey Firefighters and the Pacific Grove Kiwanis are teaming up to provide presents to families in need this holiday season and they invite you to help. Donate at Fire Stations #11, #12, #13, #14, or #15. Donations will be accepted until the morning of Saturday, December 19. Click the poster to view larger.
Remember Flatten the Curve? Now it's time to Stop the Surge!
None of us want the economy to shut down again, and more than it already is. We also don't want to overwhelm the hospitals and already tasked public health workers. So we all need to help get out of this third wave of the pandemic. In that effort, an order from November 6, was amended and signed today by the City Manager, Order of the Director of Emergency Services to Keep Playgrounds Closed. The vaccines are on the horizon. Let's NOT reach the point of ICU capacity and go into another Stay-at-Home Order. Wear masks, wash hands frequently, maintain social distancing, and stay within your household member bubble. Let's do this, Monterey.
