Improved intersections for pedestrians
City of Monterey engineers installed detectable warning surface materials throughout the intersection of Del Monte and Camino El Estero yesterday. A detectable warning surface is a vital environmental tool for individuals who are visually impaired, and improves safety for all pedestrians. Thank you to the Blind and Visually Impaired Center of Monterey County Inc. for this important suggestion.

Eligibility for COVID-19 vaccines expands on Wednesday, March 3 in Monterey County to include anyone 65 or older and people of any age who are at risk of exposure through their work in food, agriculture, childcare, education, and emergency services. The chart below shows criteria developed by the Monterey County Health Department for eligibility now and anticipated eligibility through mid-March. (view larger version of graph below)
