Fire departments focus on vaccinating unhoused residents
Yesterday's vaccination clinics resulted in 294 people being vaccinated - 137 at Gathering for Women in the morning and 157 at the MPC Public Safety Training Center in Seaside in the afternoon. Both clinics focused on reaching the homeless population. This vulnerable sector of the community received the one dose Johnson & Johnson vaccine. Thank you to the Monterey and Seaside Fire departments, Monterey Police, and supporting city departments for making this happen. More clinics will be scheduled as vaccine deliveries continue.

Remember, it's important to get tested if you think you've been exposed, are exhibiting symptoms, or plan to travel, to help reduce community spread. The more testing and the fewer positive cases the faster we can open the economy. COVID-19 testing days are changing for the State supported sites - Starting 3/18 testing will be Thursday thru Monday 8 am to 8 pm with walk ins available 5 to 7:30 pm. Make an appointment at or by calling 1-888-634-1123. Test Sites in Monterey County
