It's Wildlife Wednesday, and we love our local wildlife!
Thanks to GoWhales @MBayWhaleWatch via Twitter for this amazing photo. They report, on yesterday's excursion "we had multiple groups of orcas in the bay that hunted Pacific white-sided dolphin. We observed leaping, ramming, tail slapping, and other behaviors that were truly awe-inspiring."

Monterey Police Services Technician Gabe got his Covi-19 vaccination and helped bring the percentage of the population with at least one dose of vaccine in the County to over 50%! Let’s keep it going - #SleevesUpMonterey!

The California Department of Public Health (CDPH) has an informative page with recommendations for fully vaccinated people. For now, even for people vaccinated, masks are still important in certain settings.

Update on the City's Parking Programs
Here's a recap from yesterday's Regular Monterey City Council Meeting presentation on the City of Monterey Parking Programs. We have made extensive enhancements to physical infrastructure and technology to improve the user experience for residents and visitors using our parking garages, lots, and street parking. NOTE ABOUT RECENT NUMBER OF DEATHS: According to Herald Reporter @WrightScribe on Twitter , The Monterey County Health Department
has reported nearly 40 additional COVID-19 deaths in the past couple
of weeks. The department says it has been doing data cleanup from outbreaks at long-term care facilities over the winter surge and
verifying deaths, causing the spike.
