Family and Senior Drive Thru Produce Distribution Space Available Now for May!
Reservations are available for the May 2021 Senior and Family Produce Distributions offered by the City of Monterey Recreation and the Food Bank for Monterey County. Due to COVID-19, this is a contact-less drive thru program and reservations are required.

  • Mondays, May 3, 10, 17 and 24, 2021 (No distribution May 31)
  • 10:00am – 1:00pm (by appointment/reservation only; every half hour)
  • Dennis the Menace Parking Lot, 777 Pearl St. Monterey

The produce distribution flyer contains all the details and information on this produce distribution opportunity. Face masks are required when you pick up your food. Please feel free to call 831.646.3866 or email montereyrecreation@monterey.org with any questions.

Hear co-author Alyson Kuhn talk about the practical wisdom in “I hear you,” published in February 2021.

Local writer Alyson Kuhn sought the guidance of her co-author, gerontologist Jane L. Mahakian, when she needed to move her mother to a memory care community. Alyson’s detailed email exchanges with Dr. Jane over several years formed the basis for the I hear you writing partnership.
Round Six of the California Small Business COVID-19 Relief Grant Program begins tomorrow, Wednesday, April 28
Applications for the final round of the California Small Business COVID-19 Relief Grant Program will begin tomorrow, Wed, April 28. Visit
CAReliefGrant.com to review application details and watch short videos that can walk you through the process. Videos are available in multiple languages. Applicants not selected to receive a grant in Rounds 1, 2, 3 & 5 do not need to re-apply and will be automatically moved into Round 6. The deadline to apply is May 4.
Monterey County Hospitals Vaccination Message
Monterey County’s hospitals are joining together to urge everyone who is eligible to get vaccinated.

Today the CDC revised their mask wearing recommendations. However, until a greater majority of US residents get vaccinated, masks will still be a part of life. 58% of those eligible in Monterey County to receive a COVID-19 vaccine have received at least one dose - see the County Health Department's data below.
