Santa Clara County Moves to Most Restrictive Tier
Effective Tuesday, November 17, 2020
November 16, 2020

Good afternoon Morgan Hill Community,

Citing concerns regarding a sudden rise in COVID-19 cases and hospitalizations, the State of California announced today that Santa Clara County is moving directly into the most restrictive Purple Tier of the Blueprint for a Safer Economy. This change will take effect tomorrow, November 17, 2020, at 12:01 a.m. Under the State’s Blueprint, the Purple Tier indicates that the risk of community transmission in the county is widespread.

With this sobering news, all are encouraged to do everything possible to slow the spread of transmission in our community, protect our most vulnerable residents, and save lives.

The County Health Officer urges residents to follow strict adherence to safety protocols, including:
  • Refrain from all travel, including over the upcoming Thanksgiving holiday
  •  Stay home when possible
  • Minimize interaction with people outside one’s household
  • If choosing to gather with those outside one's household, do so ONLY OUTDOORS
  •  Maintain social distance (6 feet minimum)
  •  Wear face coverings
  • Move as many activities outdoors as possible
  • GET TESTED regularly
Testing sites throughout the County can be found at sccfreetest.org.

Be well and stay safe!
Morgan Hill residents with non-emergency questions or concerns are directed to call or text 408.767.6404. This number is monitored regularly, Monday - Friday, during the hours of 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Messages will be responded to within 24 hours, during weekdays.
