November 20, 2020

Good morning Morgan Hill Businesses and Community,

It has been a challenging week on the COVID-19 front with cases and hospitalizations continuing to increase rapidly. Yesterday, in light of the unprecedented, rapid rise in COVID-19 cases across California, Governor Gavin Newsom and the California Department of Public Health (CDPH) announced a limited Stay at Home Order requiring generally that non-essential work, movement, and gatherings stop between 10 PM and 5 AM in counties in the Purple Tier. The order will take effect at 10 PM Saturday, November 21 and remain in effect until 5 AM December 21. This is the same as the March Stay at Home Order but applied only between 10 PM and 5 AM and only in Purple Tier counties that are seeing the highest rates of positive cases and hospitalizations.

The Santa Clara County Health Officer continues to urge residents to follow strict adherence to safety protocols, including:
  • Refrain from all travel, including over the upcoming Thanksgiving holiday
  •  Stay home when possible
  • Minimize interaction with people outside one’s household
  • If choosing to gather with those outside one's household, do so ONLY OUTDOORS
  •  Maintain social distance (6 feet minimum)
  •  Wear face coverings
  • Move as many activities outdoors as possible
  • GET TESTED regularly, testing sites throughout the County can be found at sccfreetest.org.

We all must do our part to stop the spread! Be well and stay safe!
