City of Morgan Hill Weekly 411
Week of April 22
, 2019
|
Happy Monday Morgan Hill!
Are you doing the right thing, the wrong way?
|
|
CAL FIRE's Ready Set Go Video |
|
Whether working to
create defensible space around your home, just mowing the lawn, or pulling over to the side of the road, you need to use equipment responsibly. Lawn mowers, weed-eaters, chain saws, grinders, welders, tractors, and trimmers can al
l spark a fire.
Help keep your community safe.
Mow before 10 a.m., but never when it's windy or excessively dry. Lawn mowers are designed to mow lawns, not weeds or dry grass. Keep your mower in proper working order. Metal blades striking rocks can create sparks and start fires. Keep a cell phone nearby and call 911 immediately in case of fire.
Wildfire is a real concern in Morgan Hill as we move into the warmer summer months.
We encourage the entire community to sign up for our FREE Fire Prevention and Preparedness on Monday, May 6 or Saturday, May 18
.

CURRENT WATERING SCHEDULES
|
|
Water is always a precious resource in Morgan Hill and with this in mind, our permanent watering restrictions have been designed to best manage the City's potable water supply. These restrictions will help us avoid or minimize the effects of drought, climate change and the unreliability of the imported water infrastructure that serves the City of Morgan Hill.

Morgan Hill Library
April 2 - 30
Have overdue fines or even a lost item kept you away from the library? We want to bring all patrons back to the Library in April!
From April 2-30, bring any non-perishable food donation to any of our libraries (or bookmobile) in the Santa Clara County Library District, and we'll waive up to $100 in outstanding fines and fees*. That's a win-win for you and your community!
Now is the perfect opportunity to clear your fines* and do a good deed to help others. Santa Clara County Library District and Second Harvest Food Bank have joined forces in April to bring you back to the library and deliver food to those in need. Did you recently locate that item from the library that you thought was lost long ago? We always appreciate when lost items are returned. Bring it in with your food donation and the lost item fee will be waived!

County of Santa Clara ReduceWaste.org Cup Campaign
Reduce Waste- Bring Your Own Cup
About 85% of the people in Santa Clara County own a
reusable
travel cup or mug, but only 15% actually use it regularly. So why the difference?
Remember your mug/cup
Even though most of us are supportive of using reusable cups and helping the environment, we have trouble remembering to bring our cup with us. We have busy lives and it's easy to forget.
Over 120 billion disposable cups are used every year in America, and each cup is only used for about an hour. Using a reusable cup regularly is one easy way to live up to your environmental values and join the movement to reduce use of disposables!
