Happy Monday Morgan Hill!
The Morgan Hill Police Department extends a warm invitation to every member of our community to join us tomorrow, Tuesday, August 6th at National Night Out.
This year’s National Night Out is being held as we begin to heal from two recent heartbreaking and senseless events. We continue to mourn the victims of The Ford Store shooting and pray for their families, friends and all those affected by the tragedy. Now we grieve for the victims of the Gilroy Garlic Festival shooting and offer our prayers to their families and friends as well as to everyone affected by this unspeakable incident.
In addition to our ice cream social and police and fire equipment display, many of our partner agencies that provide counseling and support services will be at National Night Out. Now more than ever, we can support each other and come together to show our strength and compassion for one another.
We hope to see you tomorrow from 5:30 to 8:00 pm on Depot Street.
Please make sure to take a look at the

Warmer temperatures are here and so is the Spare the Air campaign. The Spare the Air program reminds people that fewer cars on the road can mean fewer smoggy days, and fewer Spare the Air Alerts. Take time to consider alternatives to driving alone. Poor air quality in the Bay Area affects everyone, but there is a higher risk for children, pregnant women, the elderly and those with respiratory problems, such as asthma or bronchitis.
By working to ensure everyone has the knowledge and tools they need to make the biggest difference possible, we can reduce air pollution – and Spare the Air Alerts. Below are some ways to make a difference and plan ahead:
- Carpool to work. If telecommuting isn’t an option, think about sharing a ride to work. Carpooling can significantly reduce air pollution and traffic.
- Work from home. Ask your employer about telecommuting
- Take public transit – plan now and check out the schedules in your area. Visit www.511.org or www.bayareacommutetips.org to see routes and plan your trip.
For more information, visit

or follow Spare the Air on Facebook, on Twitter @SpareTheAir and on Instagram @sparetheair.
