Good Day Morgan Hill!
Thank you to residents who joined the City Council and staff at the City's Annual Goal Setting workshop.
If you missed that event, please join Mayor Rich Constantine for coffee Saturday morning, February 1, from 10:00 a.m. - 11:30 a.m, at Mama Mia's Restaurant on East Dunne.
The Mayor buys the coffee and you bring your comments, suggestions and questions for discussion in a comfortable and informal environment. All are welcome and we hope to see you there.
You may start to see national, state, or regional information about the upcoming Census Bureau count this spring. April 1 is "Census Day" and, by then, you'll receive information mailed to your home on how and when to respond.
The City
encourages everyone to respond to the census in April for every person living in your home. An accurate and thorough count is critical. Data collected is confidential by law and not shared with any other government or non-government agency. The commitment to confidentiality helps ensure the most accurate count, which influences many aspects of public life.

Engage Morgan Hill
is a community conversation about services, funding and priorities. It is an engagement process that will take us through the next two year budget development and adoption for fiscal years 2020-21 and 2021-22.
January 2020 will start a new phase as the Community Advisory Group's role and involvement in the upcoming budget development process expands. You can find complete

on the City's web pages dedicated to Engage Morgan Hill. Residents are welcome to sit in on any upcoming meeting.

Utility Billing
There will be changes made to billing cycles effective February 1, 2020. The City will synchronize billing dates for utilities to a single cycle per month. All water meters will be read on the 1st day of each month, bills will be processed and mailed by the 15th of each month, and due by the 10th of the following month. You will see additional information included in your January and February utility bills. Contact the

April 1 is "Census Day"
How do most people get counted?
BY PHONE
: call the Census Bureau (phone number pending) and provide your answers over the phone
BY MAIL
: a paper Census form will arrive at your home in late April if you have not yet responded online or by phone
All data collected through any Census Bureau method listed above is
100% confidential
, and no personal information is ever passed on to immigration officials, law enforcement, or social services. Data results are anonymous and rolled up into an aggregate count.

Some Voters May Need to Re-register
to Vote in March 2020 Primary
An important voting-related item may affect some Morgan Hill residents!
February 18 is deadline to re-register for those who wish to vote in March 2020 presidential primary, but currently have "No Party Preference" currently listed with the Registrar of Voters.
Voters who believe they mistakenly received a notice in the mail from the Registrar of Voters indicating their options for voting in the March 3, 2020, Presidential Primary Election as a "No Party Preference" voter may need to re-register with their party of choice. The re-registration deadline is February 18, 2020.The Registrar of Voters' Office distributed information explaining which voters may be affected and that is now
on the City's website

Civic Engagement Mini-Grants
Round 2 of the Grant Cycle Now Open
Deadline is February 28
As part of the commemoration of the upcoming 100th anniversary of the Women's Suffrage movement, the Santa Clara County Office of Women's Policy will offer $75,000 in mini-grants to Santa Clara County residents who want to organize their communities to promote civic engagement and participatory democracy in honor of the legacy created by the women who fought for the 19th amendment.
