Your June 23, 2019 Morgan Hill Weekly 411
|
|
Greetings Morgan Hill!
The 4th of July is less than two weeks away and we wanted to remind you that fireworks are illegal in Morgan Hill, this includes "Safe and Sane" fireworks purchased legally in another city.
We all enjoy a good fireworks show and recognize them as an important part of our 4th of July celebrations. We also love our open spaces, our homes, our pets, and our first responders. Fireworks have resulted in brush fires, damaged homes, missing pets, and unnecessary injuries. Our surrounding hills are very dry and every illegal firework poses a significant threat to the safety of our community.
The Morgan Hill Police and Fire have adopted a “zero tolerance” policy for illegal fireworks and will be actively patrolling on the 4th for violations. The use and or possession of illegal fireworks will result in the will result in triple the fines between July 1 - 7: 1st violation is $300, 2nd violation is $600, and 3rd violation is $1,500.
We encourage the community to enjoy the
Fireworks on the Green at the Outdoor Sports Center put on by Independence Day Celebrations (IDC) as one of the events of the
Freedom Fest.
Have a wonderful week ahead. We look forward to your ongoing participation and engagement in all aspects of Morgan Hill community and government life.

Summer Fun in the Parks Sponsorship
|
We would like to give a special thank you for the Edward Boss Prado Foundation’s sponsorship of Summer Fun in the Park for 2019.
The foundation is the lead sponsor and we could not do this amazing event series for the community without their support
To the right is a photo of the sponsorship award to the City of $2,500. Pictured are Board member John T Horner, CEO Cecelia Ponzini, Board member Laura Gonzalez Escoto, and City teammates Mariah Dabel and Jose Garcia.

Water is always a precious resource in Morgan Hill and with this in mind, our permanent watering restrictions have been designed to best manage the City's potable water supply.
