Your Morgan Hill Weekly 411
News for the Week of August 24, 2020
Hello Morgan Hill!

When life challenges us with COVID-19, record high temperatures, and SCU Lightning Complex fires (to name just a few) that all threaten our community, we all continue to come together to do everything we can to support each other and make things work. Thank you Morgan Hill! We will get through this together!

We would like to provide you with some resources to help you stay up to date on the fire and evacuation status.

For additional updates regarding the SCU Lightning Fire, please visit our website.
Fire Response Donations
There have been many inquiries regarding donations to the fire response. Although neither the City or CAL FIRE accept donations directly, the Morgan Hill Community Foundation Disaster Relief Fund that can accept your donations to provide support to those people in our community who may be affected by these destructive fires.
Are you Ready for Wildfire?

CAL Fire has information to ensure that we are prepared in case of an emergency evacuation.

There are 3 main steps to getting ready.

  1. Create a Wildfire Action Plan that includes evacuation planning for your home, family and pets.
  2. Assemble an Emergency Supply Kit for each person in your household.
  3. Fill-out a Family Communication Plan that includes important evacuation and contact information.

Visit CALFIRE's Prepare for Wildfire website to sign up for text alerts and for more information.

Decrease Your Exposure
Not many things about this pandemic are within our control, but there are a few things that we can control.

Each one of these actions decreases your exposure and decreases your odds of getting COVID-19.

All three combined provide
even better protection.
Stay 6 feet apart in breakrooms

In Santa Clara County, breakrooms are one of the main sources of transmission of COVID-19 at workplaces.

It is easy to let down our guard when we are eating lunch or taking a break, but we must not let that happen.

Always social distance when you are around someone you do not live with, and this includes coworkers. ⁣

Remember to: ⁣ ⁣
  • Take breaks outdoors if possible
  • Don’t share food or drink
  • Stagger break times
  • Reconfigure break areas to ensure social distancing
