Your Morgan Hill Weekly 411
News for the Week of January 25, 2021
Hello Morgan Hill!

Much needed rain has arrived and is predicted to continue through the week ahead. We definitely need the rain, but it can also create flooding issues if our storm drains are clogged with leaves and debris. While the City makes every effort to maintain storm drains, we do not have the manpower to check on every drain before every storm. We need everyone's help.

A fun family activity is to check the storm drains on your block or street in between the storms. Put on some gloves, grab a bag and bring a rake or a shovel and do your part to prevent flooding on your street by clearing leaves and debris from your street's storm drains. Your neighbors will thank you and might even join in your efforts. When we all work together our entire community benefits.
An Increase in Commercial Burglary

The Morgan Hill Police Department wants the community to be aware that we have seen an 270% increase, as compared to the same time last year, in commercial burglaries targeting two specific areas.

First, the Monterey Road business corridor has seen a significant increase in thefts. Suspects are smashing business glass windows and doors and stealing the cash registers. The second area targeted has been construction and storage containers located at job sites or sporting venues. Suspects are gaining entry and stealing construction equipment and landscaping tools. The data indicates most of the burglaries are occurring on Wednesdays between the hours of 11 pm and 1 am.

The Morgan Hill Police Department believes the best way to fight crime is in partnership with our community so please continue to report suspicious activity without delay.
