Your Morgan Hill Weekly 411
Week of July 20, 2020
Hello Morgan Hill!

Many in our community were deeply affected by the tragic Gilroy Garlic Festival shooting. As we approach the 1-Year Anniversary, the Gilroy Strong Resiliency Center (GSRC) has reopened and is offering services twice a week and a virtual event.

Tuesday, July 28, 2020, at 5:15 p.m., there will be a streamed event to remember the victims, to honor our first responders, and to mark together the pain we feel and the healing that has begun one year after the tragic Garlic Festival shooting. The event will be live-streamed for the community on YouTube Live.

GSRC Hours of Operation: Tuesdays and Thursday 5:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.

Economic and Fiscal Impact Analysis of the Trammell Crow Morgan Hill Technology Park Project
As part of the preliminary review of the Trammell Crow Morgan Hill Technology Park project, the Planning Commission requested a fiscal impact analysis of the effects of the project on the City. The City hired Strategic Economics to complete an economic and fiscal impact analysis of the proposed project. The analysis has now been completed and a memorandum report provided to the City. The memorandum report describes the results of the economic and fiscal impact analysis of the proposed Trammell Crow Morgan Hill Technology Park project, as well as other potential development scenarios on the 60-acre site.

The document can be found on the Morgan Hill Technology Park Project page or directly.

Stay Updated on the Coronavirus and
Local Sheltering in Place
As we continue to preserve the progress we have made in case and hospitalization rates and improve our testing and tracing capability, we will be able to move toward opening even more sectors of the economy.

To get there, we need our residents to:

  • Wear a face covering. Californians are required to wear face coverings in public spaces - particularly indoors or when physical distancing is not possible.
  • Practice physical distancing. Six feet is a minimum. More is better.
  • Get tested. Visit sccfreetest.org for locations and guidance.

It's Time to Prepare for Public Safety Power Shutdowns (PSPS)
PG&E has made significant progress over the past year and it appears that any PSPS should be far less impactful to Morgan Hill than in the fall of 2019. However, it is still important that everyone prepare for the possibility of being without power for a few days in a row. Please visit the Public Safety Power Shutdown website today to ensure you are signed up to receive notifications from PG&E and to understand how to be prepared.
