Your November 10, 2019 Morgan Hill Weekly 411
Greetings Morgan Hill!

Veteran's Day is this Monday, November 11th. The City of Morgan Hill would like to express our sincere appreciation to all of our veterans and their families for their selfless service to our country. There will be a Veteran's Day Ceremony at 9:00 a.m. at the Veteran's Memorial on Monterey Road at 1st Street in the meridian. On Veteran's Day, the Morgan Hill Library will be closed however, the City of Morgan Hill offices and facilities are open regular business hours.

The recent wildfires have destroyed so many homes and turned people's lives upside down. Have you or someone you know been adversely affected by wildfires or power outages? The California Department of Housing and Community Development (HCD) has a summary of resources available and contact information for agencies working in affected areas right now. You can also visit the department's website directly for more information.

In addition to HCD's ongoing work, four Bay Area community energy agencies kick off a new program to provide local resiliency. The goal is to help thousands of homes and businesses to install backup power. East Bay Community Energy, Peninsula Clean Energy, Silicon Valley Power, and Silicon Valley Clean Energy are issuing a joint solicitation for the installation of over 30 megawatts of battery storage for their customers. The program will provide resilient solar power combined with battery storage to approximately 6,000 homes and hundreds of businesses in Alameda, San Mateo, and Santa Clara counties, including those hit by recent Pacific Gas & Electric power shutoffs. For more information you can view the recent announcement that includes steps residents can take to benefit from the program. This same information was recently featured in the San Francisco Chronicle .

Enjoy the fall colors and cooler weather!

Water is always a precious resource in Morgan Hill and with this in mind, our permanent watering restrictions have been designed to best manage the City's potable water supply. These restrictions will help us avoid or minimize the effects of drought, climate change and the unreliability of the imported water infrastructure that serves the City of Morgan Hill.

Complete rules and restrictions can be found in  Water Waste Ordinance No. 2236 .

Customers can report water waste  online  or by calling the Water Waste Hotline at 408-310-4195.
