On behalf of the City Council and all City Teammates we wish you and your family a warm and wonderful holiday filled with gratitude. With the Thanksgiving holiday this week, there are several meeting cancellations and schedule changes. Please see the body of this email for all the details.

After Thanksgiving on Saturday, November 30, come join the City of Morgan Hill and Engenius Learning Center at the Downtown Amphitheater as we show 2018's "The Grinch," a family favorite holiday movie. It's a FREE event to help us all kick off December's holiday spirit in a fun and family friendly way!

Save the date of December 7th for the next "Coffee with the Mayor", followed that evening by the Holiday Lights Parade and Tree Lighting. Details for both can be found in the body of this email.

Engage Morgan Hill is a community conversation about services, funding and priorities. It will be a year-long community engagement process that will take us right through the next next two year budget development and adoption for fiscal years 2020-21 and 2021-22.

The next Engage Morgan Hill Community Advisory Group (CAG) meeting is scheduled for Saturday, December 14. To date, the group has covered a budget overview, economic development, infrastructure, housing, growth and the impact of Senate Bill 330, and public safety. You can find all the information for each meeting on the City's web pages dedicated to Engage Morgan Hill.

City Offices Closed on Thanksgiving and the Day After
November 28 and 29

City offices will reopen on Monday, December 2. However, the Centennial Recreation Center and Aquatic Center are only closed Thanksgiving Day and will be open the day after following regular business hours for those facilities.

Engenius Learning Center of Morgan Hill, along with the City of Morgan Hill, would like to invite you to kick off the holiday season with 2018's "The Grinch." Pack a dinner, wear your holiday Pjs, bring some blankets, and come see a movie on us! Our family has enjoyed getting to meet more and more families in the community, as our tutoring business has grown since we opened last year, and we would like to give back by co-sponsoring this event with Morgan Hill. Holiday Lights Parade & Tree Lighting

Organized by Morgan Hill Kiwanis, come see many local groups performing, marching, and having fun at this year's annual downtown event. Following the parade there will be the Lighting of the City Tree by Mayor Rich Constantine and a visit from Santa.

South County Gun Buyback Event

The Santa Clara County DA’s Office is partnering with the Gilroy and Morgan Hill police departments and others to sponsor a $50,000 gun buyback in the South Bay . The Gun Buyback, South County’s first buy back in 25 years, is aimed at getting unwanted weapons out of homes and away from the hands of criminals, mentally unstable people, and children.

On December 14, 2019, people can anonymously turn in unwanted guns at the Gilroy Corporation Yard and receive cash. No questions will be asked about whose gun it is or where it came from. 

Weapons must be functional. Guns collected will be checked for lost or stolen status, and if applicable, will be returned to their legal owners. All other firearms will be destroyed. Please transport UNLOADED weapons in the trunk of your car. No walk-ups. No ammunition. First come, first served - funds are limited. We reserve the right to limit funds to an individual, regardless of the number of weapons surrendered.


Exchange Details:
·          $100 for handguns, rifles, and shotguns
·          $200 for assault weapons
·          Firearms must be functional
·          Limit 5 firearms per person

Water is always a precious resource in Morgan Hill and with this in mind, our permanent watering restrictions have been designed to best manage the City's potable water supply. These restrictions will help us avoid or minimize the effects of drought, climate change and the unreliability of the imported water infrastructure that serves the City of Morgan Hill.
