Have you set aside time this month to become better prepared for and emergency, natural disaster or PG&E Public Safety Power Shutoff? If not commit to be prepared today!

Prepared Not Scared!
Did you know that the City of Morgan Hill has a separate website for Economic Development? ChooseMorganHill.com

While the target audience for this site is primarily businesses and developers that may be interested in opportunities in Morgan Hill, it is also a site that residents can use as a resource to better understand our economic development efforts and focus here in Morgan Hill. One area of the site that we wanted to make sure residents are aware of is the "significant developments projects in Morgan Hill" . This page is still a work in progress, but there is a lot of valuable information already there, including an interactive map. Please take time to visit!
The video from the last Engage Morgan Hill Community Advisory Group Saturday morning meeting is now available. The topic was Economic Development. Look for more information about the community listening tours that the Community Advisory Group is getting ready to launch very soon. For more information about Engage Morgan Hill please visit EngageMorganHill.org .

Have a great week ahead Morgan Hill. As always we continue to appreciate and look forward to your ongoing engagement and participation in all aspects of community life and your local government.

Meetings and Opportunities to Engage
Register for the Fall CERT Training Program Today
A great way to become prepared is to go through Morgan Hill's Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) training. Following a large-scale disaster, you may need to be self-sufficient for a minimum of 3 days. Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) training will teach you to better prepare, respond, and recover from fires, floods, earthquakes, and other local disasters we cannot predict.

The CERT curriculum includes emergency preparedness best practices and hands on experience in basic disaster response skills, such as fire safety, light search and rescue, team organization, disaster psychology, and disaster medical operations.

CERT Basic Training is free to South Santa Clara County residents. High School students are also invited to attend and may receive community service hours.

This fall 2019 opportunity takes place on Wednesday evenings from 7:00-9:30 p.m. at the Morgan Hill Police Department beginning on October 9th. The last day of class students practice their skills at a disaster simulation and celebrate their graduation on Saturday, November 23rd.

As always, we look forward to your ongoing engagement in community life and our local Morgan Hill government.
