GET READY FOR 4TH OF JULY FIREWORKS
Join us in Bissell Park!

The City of Oak Ridge is once again sponsoring a fireworks show to celebrate Independence Day. The event will be held in A.K. Bissell Park on July 4th and is expected to begin after dark at approximately 9:45 p.m.

A concert by the Oak Ridge Community Band is scheduled to begin at 7:30 p.m. WMYL 96.7 Merle FM will be live following the band performance and will broadcast the soundtrack for the fireworks display.

Holiday Schedule Reminder

All City of Oak Ridge offices will be closed on Thursday, July 4, for Independence Day.

Please note that household trash and recycling will still be collected as scheduled.
Outdoor Municipal Swimming Pool Schedule
The Oak Ridge Outdoor Swimming Pool will continue to operate on its summer break schedule until school resumes in late July.


On July 29, the in-school pool schedule will go into effect for approximately three weeks. 100-meter lap swim will be held in the morning and public swim will be held after school and on the weekends. The pool schedule is subject to change depending on weather, special events, or staffing. Please note that sections of the pool may be closed, especially during the in-school schedule, due to insufficient staffing to cover the entire pool.

The final day of the 2019 season will be the annual Puppy Pool Party held on Sunday, August 18. More information on that event will be released soon!
Oak Ridge Schools Registration & Orientation
All students new to   Oak Ridge Schools  need to register at their respective schools July 8 - July 17, from 9am-noon. Parents who pre-registered kindergartners in May also need to complete the registration process on those dates. Registration for new students in grades 9 -12 will be made by appointment ONLY.

Fall Softball Registration Open Until July 13

Team registration for the Oak Ridge Recreation and Parks Department’s fall softball season is underway. Men’s and women’s leagues will be offered along with a co-ed league.

Teams must complete registration paperwork and pay fees no later than July 13 at 9:30pm. Games are set to begin the week of July 29 and schedules will be available July 24.
