Housing Needs Survey
The City Council has retained a research group to determine the housing needs of the City of Ouray. To accomplish an accurate Housing Needs Assessment we need correct and clean data for them to analyze. If you own or manage a long-term rental in the City of Ouray; please fill out the following short survey. Most of the information we need is not available on traditional housing advertisement sites. This will help ensure we meet the affordable housing needs in our community.

Friendly Reminder:
Make sure you have your property's address number posted visibly and legibly from the street. Posted address numbers are regulated by the City in an effort to ensure delivery personnel and first responders are able to locate properties and to comply with the Ouray Municipal Code.

Reminders from Chief Wood and the
Ouray Police Department
Ouray is a tourist town and our state and city parking regulations may be unfamiliar to visitors.
All vehicles parked on city streets must have a current valid registration. No ATV or unlicensed motorcycles may be parked or ridden on city streets.
Curb colors have meanings!

Yellow- no parking

Blue- handicapped parking

White- motorcycle parking only

Parking regulations are strictly enforced. We want all visitors to have an enjoyable experience in Ouray, but summertime parking is limited and therefore has to be closely controlled.

For a list of parking regulations see the Ouray City Code available online. If you have any questions or need additional guidance, especially questions regarding parking RVs, large vehicles and trailers, or OHV regulations please contact the Ouray Police Department, (see below). We would much rather give you advice than a ticket.

Time to Plan!
I know it's early, but let's talk about December.

Please contact Autumn Bailey if you would like to help plan, have business specials, live music, etc., planned items to add to the master schedule for Ouray Yule. We are trying something new so as not to overlap the Montrose Parade of Lights. Let's make it a celebration to write home about!

Also, be thinking about how you want to decorate your storefront and win the contest!

Reminder from Waste Management:
Please have your Trash & Recycling out to the “curb” no later than 7:00 AM on pickup day. We would hate for it to be missed and now that weather is finally making it easier for drivers their schedule is getting back to normal arrival times.

Also, if you have extra items next to the bin they will not be picked up unless you have placed an order with Waste Management for extra pickup, which incurs an additional fee. See the phone number at the bottom of the pickup schedule to place an order.

Tell us what you think!
