Done in a Day

Contractors working for the Palatka Public Works Department started the resurfacing of the 5th Street intersection of St. Johns Avenue early Wednesday morning and were finished by early afternoon.

The project was to address the transition between the crosswalk and the pavement on the street, which was left with irregularities from a prior crosswalk and intersection project.

This work is part of an ongoing project by the City of Palatka and Putnam County to resurface and improve St. Johns Avenue. More details of the St. Johns Avenue project can be found www.Palatka-fl.gov

Halloween downtown

In conjunction with the Downtown Palatka, Inc.’s Boo on the Avenue, the Palatka Police Department’s Annual Trunk or Treat Halloween event attracted thousands of the City’s children and their parents to St. Johns Avenue and the City’s Riverfront Park on Halloween.

Children dressed in costumes and their parents started the afternoon visiting local businesses along St. Johns Avenue to Trick or Treat and then finished the day visiting groups distributing hundreds of pounds of candy at the Police Department’s event on the Riverfront.

“We look forward to this every Halloween,” said Jackie Williams, who came with her two small children, “It is nice that Palatka provides a safe, family-friendly event for the kids. It is nice to see so many people downtown.”

Helping those in need

Your copy should address 3 key questions: Who am I writing for? (Audience) Why should they care? (Benefit) What do I want them to do here? (Call-to-Action)

Create a great offer by adding words like "free" "personalized" "complimentary" or "customized." A sense of urgency often helps readers take an action, so think about inserting phrases like "for a limited time only" or "only 7 remaining"!
