Community Reception Scheduled for Poulsbo Police Chief Candidates
The City of Poulsbo invites and encourages citizens, city staff, and community members to meet candidates for the open Poulsbo Police Chief position. This will be an excellent opportunity to get to know the candidates and show what a supportive community we have in Poulsbo.
Noll Road Corridor Open House
The Noll Road Corridor is Moving Forward
The Noll Road Corridor project has reached some important milestones. We have environmental approval for the overall project; the City of Poulsbo received a grant for the first phase of construction and approval from the State to begin purchasing the additional property we need for the public right-of-way on the entire corridor. We will be having a public open house to:
  • Update Property Owners on the status of the Noll Road Corridor.
  • Explain the process of purchasing private property for right-of-way.
The Open House will be:
  • Tuesday August 9th, 5:30 to 7:00 PM
  • Poulsbo City Hall - Council Chambers
All property owners within 300 feet of the corridor and interested parties are invited to attend. There will not be a formal presentation, so you can drop in any time between 5:30 and 7:00 PM.

If you have any questions feel free to contact Michael Bateman or Diane Lenius @360-779-4078.
Pre-Application Conferences
Pre-Application conferences, sometimes called a "pre-app", offer a chance for City staff and the applicant to review a proposed development early-on in the process.  City staff from the Planning, Building, Finance, Fire, and Public Works Departments can provide the applicant with relevant regulations and highlight any potential concerns.

Application materials must be submitted at least 15 calendar days before the pre-app conference. They are held the 1st and 3rd Tuesdays of the month. Attendance of the Pre-application is limited to City staff, the property owner, and any other agencies, representatives or consultants invited by the City or the property owner pursuant to administrative policy.

For more information about pre-apps or other planning processes, please visit the information brochures section of the Planning and Economic Development website:

Adult Sailing & Navigation
Sailing courses for Beginners and Intermediates. Our opportunities to enjoy the waterways of Puget Sound include classes in learning how to sail in a fun and responsive centerboard dinghy. Or, you may choose to work on a larger, keel boat, learning as you sail!   We will also offer Navigation courses, so once you've tackled the mechanics of handling a boat, you can also extend your trips through knowledge of rules of road, navigation and charting, communications and general seamanship.
