Vaccines to go in Poulsbo. The Housing, Health and Human Services Department worked with Poulsbo Safeway pharmacists in November to bring COVID vaccine booster shots to seniors at Hostmark Apartments. A few weeks later, we partnered with pharmacists at Poulsbo Rite Aid to offer drive up flu vaccines at Poulsbo City Hall. COVID and flu vaccines are key to lowering infection rates in our region and keeping vulnerable residents safe. We are grateful to our local pharmacists for coming out into the field and making these shots more accessible. People having trouble making vaccine appointments are encouraged to call the city’s COVID information line for assistance: 360 394 9795.
New Partnerships with Fishline. The City started two new partnerships with Fishline Comprehensive Services in November to assist Poulsbo residents. Emergency rental assistance is now available to individuals on fixed incomes who are struggling with a recent rent increase. Through this partnership, we’ve already helped 6 elderly and disabled residents stay in their homes and receive individualized case management. In addition, the City is contributing funds to a behavioral health counselor who will be working on the Fishline campus. The aim, here, is to increase access to high-quality counseling to residents in our area, regardless of income or insurance—a much needed service at a time when it can take weeks, if not months, to see an in person counselor.
Volunteers Needed. H3 will be working with the Poulsbo Fire CARES team, in December, to bring some holiday cheer to home-bound, isolated seniors through baked goods and home visits. If this is something that interests you, call H3 Director Kim at 360 394 9794.
