Healthcare heroes recognized. The Poulsbo Mayor and City Council will recognize 9 local healthcare heroes during the Council meeting on January 12. The following individuals will be honored for their distinguished service to Poulsbo residents in 2021: Pharmacist Mark Tan and Bainbridge Prepares Executive Director Loren Bast, Olympic Peninsula Community Clinic Executive Director Scott Brandon, City volunteer Alane Basco, Safeway pharmacist Tore Hagerup, Rite Aid pharmacist Jashper Jingho, Kitsap Public health employees Anne Moen and Doug Blangsted, and Poulsbo Police Chief Ron Harding. Housing, Health and Human Services is a new department at the City, and these individuals have gone above and beyond to help us respond to the COVID pandemic—and other health related needs.
New Cases-Continued Efforts. The rate of new COVID cases in Kitsap County more than doubled in late December as compared to the previous week. This new wave of cases derailed many holiday plans—and has the potential to overwhelm our already strained healthcare system and disrupt in-person schooling. Protecting yourself and others is more important than ever: vaccines and tests are available at low or no cost throughout the County and the H3 department is happy to answer questions about locations and availability. 360 394 9794.
