Babysitter
Boot Camp
Do you have a teen ages 12-17 who wants to earn some money babysitting this summer? Or maybe, you want them to help watch their younger siblings? Linda Chandler is offering The Child and Babysitting Safety (CABS) course! The class comes with a magazine-format guide designed to engage and inform the aspiring babysitter.  It gives teenagers everything they need to know, from getting started, to dealing with parents and children, to key safety, care giving, and first aid tips. The CABS course gives teenagers essential information, but it doesn't read like a textbook.  We've broken childcare and babysitting down into sections, combining practical information with graphics and images designed to pull teenagers in and keep them engaged. Please pre-register at least a week in advance by calling 360-779-9898 or register online

Summer Nights at the Bay Concerts

Is there anything better than summer sun on Liberty Bay? 2015 was a fantastic year for our Poulsbo Summer Sailing classes and 2016 is gearing up for another fun-filled summer. Youth sailing for ages 8-16 will be held at the Port of Poulsbo (near the boat launch.)

Students must have beginner swimming skills and provide their own Coast Guard-approved life jackets. The all-day classes will be conducted in Opti and FJ class sailboats. FJ's are approximately 14' with a beam of 5', and are an ideal sailing dinghy to teach young sailors the skills of boat handling and racing. The Opti class is a self-righting dinghy that was developed especially for junior training. The Opti is used for our younger sailors, and is a more stable design, while still performing well in a breeze. Opti class sailboats have been used around the world for many years as a junior trainer.

The purpose of our sailing camps is to learn sailing skills, boating safety, and to have fun! Please remember, however, that sailing can at times be dangerous and students must be willing to work hard each day. Capsizing for the "fun" of it will not be tolerated. A Coast Guard-approved life jacket must be worn at all times when on the dock and in the water.

Students will need to bring a sack lunch, a beverage with extra water for hot days, swimsuit, change of clothes, soft-soled footwear (something you do not mind getting wet), sunscreen, sunglasses and/or a hat, and clothing appropriate for the weather. Wet suits will be used on inclement weather days only; bring your own if you have one. On cool days, you may need extra clothing. For further information, call Parks and Recreation at 360-779-9898.

All camps run Mon-Fri, 9a-4p for $229/session* except as noted. Register 2 weeks prior, pay only $179*/$219*!
