Housing, Health & Human Services (H3) Update
Combining Behavioral Health Response with First Response to Better Serve Poulsbo Residents. Housing, Health and Human Services continues to work with Poulsbo Police and Poulsbo Fire to help residents needing help because of mental health and substance use disorders. Police Navigator Jamie and Fire CARES team Renee and Dave are in the field, five days a week, responding and following up to 911 calls involving mental illness, cognitive decline, substance use, and behavioral health crisis. Poulsbo is one of a growing number of Washington cities that understands the importance of pairing first responders with behavioral health professionals in the police and fire department. These programs have helped well over 100 people connect to care and services this year.

Grant received! The City was awarded a grant from Kitsap Public Health in recognition of our efforts to make COVID vaccines more accessible to Latino residents. The City's first Spanish-language pop up clinic was held at St.Olaf's Church last month thanks to the hard work and generosity of Pacifica Medicine & Wellness and St.Olaf staff. Looking forward to the next one in early June.
