To boost again or not to boost—that is the question. The answer depends on your age, risk factors, and previous experience with COVID and COVID vaccines. Confused? Here is guidance from the CDC: https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/vaccines/stay-up-to-date.html#recommendations and findings from New York Times reporter David Leonhardt, from the article: “Covid is continuing to kill many more people each day than vehicle crashes, gun violence, the flu or many other health threats.”

Nordic Cottage Project developments. Housing Kitsap, in partnership with Housing, Health, and Human Services, is working to build two, 2-story cottages at 609 NE Lincoln (“the Triangle”) for deeply affordable housing. New developments: a Kitsap County Grant Committee has recommended the project for $400,000 in federal HOME funding. County Commissioners will consider this recommendation at their October 24 meeting. This award, if granted, will help Housing Kitsap move forward with utility improvement and other pre-construction work necessary for the project. Interesting in learning more? A community meeting about the project will be held October 18 at 6pm at Gateway Fellowship. The project will also be discussed at a November 2 City Council meeting.
Winter is Coming and Gateway Fellowship is looking for volunteers to staff its cold weather shelter. This shelter helps our community’s most vulnerable residents when the temperatures drop below freezing. H3 is deeply grateful to volunteers, and Gateway, for providing this critical service.
