Riverside County Health Officials Release 2020
COVID-19 Vaccination Plan

The Food and Drug Administration authorized the emergency use of the Pfizer Covid-19 vaccine last week, shipping millions of doses throughout the country. Riverside County hospital allocation is stated below pursuant to Riverside County Health Officials:

On December 16, 2020, the Riverside County Office of Public Health released their Covid-19 Vaccination Plan 2020. See below for details of timing, availability, safety, distribution, and prioritization.

STATE'S CURRENT COVID ORDERS
|
|
Please keep in mind that the State's Regional Stay Home Order is currently in effect.
The Order prohibits private gatherings of any size, closes sector operations except for critical infrastructure and retail, non-essential travel (statewide) and requires 100% masking and physical distancing. Residents are encouraged to stay at home as much as possible to limit the spread of COVID-19.

Also, the State’s curfew order (10:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m.) is still in effect until 5:00 a.m. on December 21, 2020.

Drive-Through Contactless COVID-19 Testing Site
Now Open in Rancho Mirage
Tests are contactless and self-administered through Curative, which has completed more than six million such tests in 15 states across the U.S.
Testing takes place 5 days a week, Tuesday – Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Rancho Mirage Library & Observatory (west parking lot) located at 71-100 Highway 111, Rancho Mirage.
Appointment Information
Please note that due to the holidays, the testing site will be closed on December 24, 25, & 31, 2020, and January 1, 2021.

- Currently, appointments are being booked starting December 19th.
- Only 100 per day walk-ups (without appointment) will be accepted.
- At this time, non-appointments cannot be accommodated between 12:00-1:00 p.m.

- Results are received in 24-48 hours via text and email.
Please do not eat, drink or smoke at least 20 minutes prior to testing.

Testing is available to anyone, with or without symptoms or health insurance. Results of your test will be sent to you in an email and/or text message within a few days. A standard wait time for results is five days but results are coming back within 24 hours.

CITY PARTNERS WITH CHAMBER TO DISTRIBUTE
PPE SUPPLIES TO LOCAL BUSINESSES
"MILLION MASK GIVEAWAY"

As part of the California Office of Emergency Services (CalOES) "Million Mask Giveaway", the Coachella Valley Economic Partnership (CVEP) provided Coachella Valley small businesses with more than $1 million in personal protective equipment (PPE). In turn, CVEP has partnered with all Coachella Valley cities to assist in the distribution of 1,440,000 face masks, 96,000 16.9 oz. bottles of hand sanitizer, and 40,400 face shields to small businesses.

The City of Rancho Mirage has partnered with the Rancho Mirage Chamber of Commerce for distribution of 30,000 masks, 1,000 face shields, and over 2,000 hand sanitizers to Rancho Mirage small businesses.
|
|
In order to qualify, your business must be located in Rancho Mirage; chamber members and nonmembers are welcome to the supplies while they last with general allowances allotted by industry.
Pick up will be at Chamber offices, 71905 Highway 111, Suite H, Rancho Mirage
(located behind PIRCH and Lamps Plus).

GELSON'S ANNUAL TOY DRIVE IS ON IN RANCHO MIRAGE!

Toy drive receptacles are located at Gelson’s. Keeping with tradition, the store’s employees will personally deliver some toys — following COVID-19 rules and guidelines, of course. To that end, erring on the side of safety, Gelson’s can only accept new and unwrapped gifts for infants, children and adolescents.
Here are some ideas for donations:
Infants to age 5: Rattles, interactive crib toys/musicals, soft baby dolls, building blocks, balls, toys, educational books, educational toys and bubbles.
Age 6-13: Toys, Play-Doh, crafts, art supplies, colors, coloring books, superhero action figures, Hello Kitty items, bubbles, cars, dinosaurs, dolls and Barbie dolls.
Ages 13-18: Board games, makeup, nail polishes, sports team swag, Bath & Body Works sets for older girls, CDs, mp3 players, wallets, sport balls, white art paper, markers, video games and purses.
All ages: Socks, slippers, hats, beanies, pajamas, gift cards, movies, books, backpacks, sports bags, blankets and clothing.

FACE COVERINGS ARE REQUIRED IN ALL BUSINESSES, RESTAURANTS AND ADJACENT PUBLIC SPACES IN THE CITY OF RANCHO MIRAGE
The City of Rancho Mirage City Council has adopted the State of California’s Face-Covering Order, which mandates that a face-covering is required at all times when outside of the home, with some exceptions.
